About After the Mouse.com - the Cast Member Community section
Who are After the Mouse.com?
Well we’re a group of past and present Disney Cast Members who are determined to keep the special friendships we forged whilst working for Disney alive.
Who can become a member of the After the Mouse.com community?
The members of this Cast Member community are drawn from any and all areas of the Walt Disney Company, though the community more representative of the ‘On Stage’ group. Though if you were a Disey employee and you can’t find your niche here, let us know, we’ll fit you in if we can!
What is After the Mouse’s about?
We’re all about putting old friends back in contact with each other. Simple. We are dedicated to building the best possible Cast Member community site that we can. We’re engineering a community built of smaller more personal micro communities. As time goes by we’ll add more features to the site, but for now we’re working on our key project of getting people back in contact with each other. Building the Cast Member community…
How does After the Mouse work?
To start with we’d suggest having a browse around the site, get a feel for the place. Then when you’re sure this is for you, join the site, it’s free! We’ll create you an account and then you’ll have the opportunity to send messages to your friends who are listed on the site as members.
What do I have to do to be a Cast Member on After the Mouse?
Well you’ll have to have worked at one of the Disney Theme Park Resorts such as Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Hong Kong Disneyland, the Disney Cruise Line or one of the Disney Stores and then you’ll need to tell us a little about yourself…
Ok, what is it you want to know?
We’ll ask you two types of questions, you give us the answers and we’ll build them into your profile, easy. The first questions are to help people that may be looking to contact you… there are a lot of John Smith’s in the world and a few must have worked for Disney, so giving them the information so they can work out if you were the John Smith who worked in Custodial in 1958 or the John Smith who in the Hotel in 2006… Then we ask you to get creative and tell your story. People love to read about old friends, what they’ve become, what happened next… a more in depth detailed picture of you, your life story if you will.
Is it safe to post my details on line?
We firmly believe that with due care and attention posting your details is reasonably safe as long as you follow common sense rules. Don’t post your Date of birth, Social security number, Home address, email address (to prevent spamming and protect your privacy, only enter your email address in the box on the sign up form), Financial details etc in your profile or in any messages you may send through the site. Trusting to your own good sense is often the best guide you have. We also recommend strongly that you read our terms & conditions as well as our privacy policy.
Can I edit or remove my details once I’ve posted them?
Yes. Simply log in to your profile page and click on the My Details link in the right hand column. Through this link you can update any of the information you’ve posted on the site. To completely remove your membership, please drop me a line (making sure to put CANCEL in the subject line) and we’ll take your details fully out of the database.
Personal Messaging, what is it and how does it work?
Keeping an eye out for out members interests is a key part of our philosophy at After the Mouse. Two of the biggest scourges out there on the net are viruses and unsolicited email, in other words spamming. So we have gone for a safer, simpler option the personal message box. When another member posts you a Personal message from your profile page we store it in your message box and send you a mail letting you know its waiting for you… simple. No viruses and the minimum of spamming! Cool huh?
Ok, so what’s this going to cost me?
LOTS!!!! of faith and good will. Ok! So nothing in this world is truly free, but we don’t want to charge for the services we offer but we ask you to support us in other ways.
We would ask that if you are still in contact with other Cast Members that you drop them a line to introduce us… the more members our community has the more old friends you can find and after all that is why you’re looking at this site. Donations are always gratefully received and we’ve added a handy button over here on the left for just that purpose.
How else can I get involved in the After the Mouse community?
Well as the site and the community grows we may be looking for more assistance but for now we need your good will and your contacts. The best way for this site to develop is for it to spread by word of mouth so PLEASE use our “Tell friends” page and send your Disney buddies our address, spread the word!
What’s next for After the Mouse?
As the community grows it will have needs, to communicate, to express itself and be heard. Our aim it to anticipate and respond to the communities needs. In the near future we intend to add to the forums and possibly a couple of other ideas too… but we’ll wait till we see what you, our members need.
What’s your link the Walt Disney Company?
None. After the Mouse is a community site owned, operated and housed in the UK and has no link to the Walt Disney Company or its divisions other that the members of the community work or worked for the company. For a more detailed disclaimer click here.
Ok, so if it’s not a Walt Disney Company site who runs it?
The site is run by myself, Tim Jennings, and a few others and we can be contacted through our Contacts page.
I signed up but didn't get a password by email, what do i do?
