Volunteer roles open for the Cast Member Community
As the Disney Cast Member community grows I, as the writer, builder, developer and all round one man band of After the Mouse.com find that I could do with a little help from time to time. I have two rolls that I think you can help me with at the moment and I hope you’d like to help out. The first is for Content creators, the second is for a web developer.
Correspondents / Bloggers
DLR, WDW, TDL, DLP, DCL, HKDL
I am looking for regular contributors to the site from as many of the resorts as possible. The roll will be to pass on the news and current events from each area and tell the rest of the community what is going on where you are.*
PHP Code developer
The site needs the part time services of a developer familiar with PHP, MySQL as a minimum, and preferably proficient in CSS and JavaScript. The community uses the Drupal CMS which is PHP based so developing a working proficiency **

Corespondents
*We are looking for a person in each Resort to pass along publicly accessible information (I wouldn’t want anyone passing along privileged info and getting in trouble with Disney here…) to the community.
Each corespondent would be expected to write, edit and submit their articles to the site. (Each article would then be proof read and ‘posted’ by an administrator)
We would like to see at least one post every 14 days (though more would be acceptable) and reporting from sources such as Eyes and Ears is okay as long as you credit your source but plagiarism in NOT! (Duh! But I have to say it up front)
This is a great opportunity for you to have regular articles published on a respected website read and commented on by your peers. If you are thinking of a career in journalism this may be a very good start.
Please be aware however that;
This is an unpaid volunteer role
You will be responsible for your content – (post something you shouldn’t and it’s you Disney will shout at not me! So PLEASE be aware of this from the outset)
Developer
**I am looking for a pert time / occasional developer to work with me on improving the community website. The site id based on a Drupal 5 CMS framework, with custom views and mainly standard modules. Some customisation of existing open source modules will be needed as will the creation of some bespoke solutions.
Ideally the right person for the job would be knowledgeable in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and if you’re already familiar with Drupal all the better!
This is as I said a volunteer roll but I am more than happy to give credit where it is due and should you need references and a real world project to show prospective employers or customers then I can provide references here too.
Please be aware however that;
This is an unpaid volunteer role
I use, and believe in open source software so I would expect any code to be written, submitted and used in the same spirit.
