Did Disneyland Paris Came Close To A CM Death?
This may be old news to some of my readers but the events of the last few months in Walt Disney World shed a different light on the incident at Disneyland Resort Paris’ Wild West Show.
If you watch this video footage, 35 seconds in to the film you need to be paying attention to the area between the stage coach in the centre of the shot and the left hand side of the screen. It is un-nerving to watch.

“The unthinkable happened. Despite rigorous safety checks over the course of the past 17 years of stunts at Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show (La Legende de Buffalo Bill) Disney Village, Disneyland Paris, one of the descenders that slowly lowers stuntmen into the arena during the stagecoach attack broke. Not the mechanism failed, but the cable attachment swiftly, cleanly, and without warning, broke as soon as the stuntman put his weight onto the descender.
“Once the cable broke, Adam went into a free fall for 10 meters (30 feet). He estimated he had about 1/2 second to react...,“

I can only agree with the author of the post that this is an amazing story of a freak accident, professionalism, quick reactions and old fashioned good luck. To walk away from such an accident.
