Important Update - Please Read

I have just updated an important feature to the site. Please think seriously about updating your account settings.

About three months ago the mail notification function of the Private message system became unstable and was removed. I am pleased to report that the issues have now been resolved and the mail function is once again operational.

To amend your settings to meet your needs please take a moment to navigate to your account then click the Edit Account tab and just below the Upload Picture area you’ll find the Private message settings.

I would strongly advise going with the settings as they are seen here, but it’s your account and your choice.

Allow Private Messages
This is really the on/off switch for the whole messaging system. If you want friends to find and contact you then this must be on.

Aggressive Notification of new messages
Put this another way, tell me if I have any messages waiting for me and keep telling me till I read them.

Notify of new private message by email
How often would you like the site to mail you? Facebook's default is for every message if that is any use in making your mind up
